I will be doing a long-term fast mixing water and juice fasting from November 6th through the COP15 in San Fransisco.

I am 21 years old and an activist. I will be graduating from Penn State University this Spring 2010 with a degree in Community, Environment, & Development: Environmental Economic Policy. Currently, I am interning for the Greenpeace Student Network in San Francisco. I have always had a strong love for the environment and the world around me. I have always love climbing trees, hiking, biking, and most anything outdoors! I became politically active in around 14 years old working for local, state, and national campaigns for the democratic party. I thought that might be the best way to create the change our country and the world needs.

In college I began working on issue campaigns with Amnesty International, Sierra Club, Greenpeace, United Students Against Sweatshops, Eco-Action, as well as becoming a climate change presenter for the Climate Project. I also help with our Students for Justice in Palestine and SpeakOUT our gay right group. I love to inspire and teach people how we can be better to each other and to our planet. I try to show a respect for all creatures and systems on our planet.

I hope that this hunger strike will show the urgency and importance of world leaders creating a fair, ambitious, and binding climate treating based on science in Copenhagen this December! We need to have massive reductions before 2015 if we are to have a chance at mitigating run away climate change. If you are a "non-believer" of the scientific reality of climate change, I ask you this: Would gravity not exist if you were of the mind to not believe in it? If you think that climate change is too expensive and we might as well just wait it out. Think about it from a cost and benefit perspective: the costs we would have to pay now may seem high but can you morally suggest that any amount of money out weighs the well-being of our species and our planet? I hope that you will stand up for the justice of all creatures on planet Earth by asking your head of country to attend the UN Climate Change Convention in Copenhagen as well as to be a leader in creating a fair, ambitious, and binding treating based on science!
