I plan to fast on water-only in New Jersey from November 2-16 and then decide on the next steps. It's likely I'll continue at least on liquids after that through Copenhagen.

I've been active since 1968 in the progressive social change movement. I was active in the peace movement against the Vietnam war, was a founder and national coordinator of the National Campaign to Impeach Nixon and have been actively involved in progressive coalition-building and independent politics efforts since 1975. Since 2003 I've played a leadership role in the USA in the effort to stabilize our climate and for a clean energy revolution. I was a founder in early 2004 of the Climate Crisis Coalition, and I'm currently Policy Director of the Chesapeake Climate Action Network. For three and a half months in the fall of 2007 I ate no solid food, 25 days on water-only, as part of a climate emergency fast focused on getting Congress to pass strong climate legislation. Over the course of my activist career, I've been arrested 16 times for acts of nonviolent civil disobedience, including five times between October, 2006 and September, 2009 on climate issues. Since 2000, I've been writing Future Hope, a nationally-circulated column of political and social commentary. My personal website is http://www.tedglick.com.
