Russell Charlton

Russell will fast with CJF on Thursday and Friday, the final days of COP15.
"I am taking part in Climate Justice Fast because I want to stand in solidarity with those who are already suffering because of climate change and the countless people who will face serious consequences if we do not take action now. As an Albertan and Canadian I feel particularly responsible to do whatever I can. Canada is widely considered the worst country for blocking climate negotiations and this is because of the tar sands, a dirty, environmentally destructive project, that is being developed primarily in Alberta, my province. This government's position is shameful and disgusting, but does not reflect Canadian values. I am doing everything I can to show that Stephen Harper does not speak on behalf of Canadians. Canadians want Climate Justice. Canadians want a deal that is fair, ambitious, and binding."
