Matthias Wanner

Matthias started fasting on Nov. 6th and will see how long he'll be able to fast.
"Born in 1985, I was raised by ecological conscious parents. During my adolescence, I initiated some minor green actions. With 18, I got more and more interested in spiritual ideas and had a great gap-year, finding out more about myself and my place in the world. After having worked on an organic farm, I started to study psychology and that's what I'm still doing. In between, I worked voluntarily for Greenpeace and as an ecological appointee of the students representative council.
For 10 months, I have been living vegan and after having had three experiences with shorter fasts, I'm quite curious of how my first political/societal fast will work out. I strongly hold the opinion, that we're not to focus on the CO2-emissions primarily, but rather have to address, that our complete western lifestyle will never turn out to be sustainable.
We need not only a technological green revolution, but also a revolution of our minds, of our consciousness and the insights in our deep dependency from mother earth. That's why I step up to the street and try to life publicly the optimistic, warm idea of our great chance to change our small, individual cosmos for the better of the whole world."
