"I'm deeply concerned about the climate crisis, which is accompanied by multiple other crises that all appear to come back to human excesses and shortsightedness. I'm the Executive Officer of the Australian Climate Justice Program and am doing my PhD on exposure to legal risk for climate change damage. I was blessed with a fairly conscious upbringing, along with solar power, rain water and a great big vegie patch, surrounded by Australian bush.

I grew up as a vegetarian and have been vegan for about 5 years now. A big part of me wants to step away from the madness of our civilization, reforging a new way of life with my dear soulmate Matty. But for now I engage with this mad world with the intention to be a part of the change. Gandhiji is a great source of inspiration for me and my inner wisdom tells me that we need to manifest satyagraha to build the collective will to undertake a rapid transition- transforming our consciousness and the world around us. Fasting for climate justice aligns with the rhythm of Truth, with the rhythm of the heart.

I do short fasts fairly regularly for health and spiritual reasons. I haven't undertaken an extended fast before. I'm not sure how long I will fast for, but I trust my inner wisdom to guide me in this."
