Aaron will be fasting for 5 days from 14 December until 18 December.
"I am a graduate student in chemical engineering who passionately believes that we need a radical change in the values and priorities that guide our science and its application. I believe that good science is rooted in cooperation with, rather than domination of our home, and I think that the principles of permaculture and biomimicry are the only paths that ensures the long term survival of our societies.
Here is my intention for this fast:
To celebrate and support the work of all justice-oriented earth activists;
To call for an equitable and just treaty from the Copenhagen negotiations, one that's rooted in science-based emissions reduction targets and that ensures the survival of all peoples;
To grieve two centuries of colonialist greed and industrial destruction, and my own part in that as well;
And to celebrate our global (re)awakening to the life-sustaining inter-dependency and abundance of the Earth, which makes us all kin and all concerned about the fates of one another.
